Plugin for Codex, Claude Code & Cursor
Out of AI coding credits?Keep building. Spend less.
Keep using Codex, Claude Code or Cursor. Let XCR handle implementation and local checks. The plugin is free to download, with no XCR subscription. Making tasks are billed by usage.
In our 22-task sample against Astra, estimated task cost was 41.8% lower. This does not measure subscription-bill savings.
XCR-AI works like an AI switchboard: each task is routed to a suitable model, no juggling accounts.

Cost comparison · sample-based estimates
What could a lower coding bill look like?
100× cost illustration · not measured
Same sample mix and unit costs, repeated 100×: 2,200 task instances. $128.38 difference. Not a forecast or a large-scale test.
Real repository tasks · 10-task total
Both completed 7/10, including 6 shared passes. XCR estimated cost 31.3% lower.
Small AI coding tasks · 12-task total
Both completed 12/12. XCR estimated cost 84.5% lower.
XCR self-test, 13 Oct 2026: 12 small tasks and 10 public historical tasks from two utility libraries. XCR cost includes 20% markup; Astra is API cost. Uses XCR’s upper estimate and Astra’s lower estimate, including failed tasks. Not a production-version, subscription-quota or overall-capability guarantee. The 100× figures are arithmetic only. The report uses its original cost-plus-20% calculation and excludes the current $0.02 fixed task fee.
Report text is in Chinese. Full data covers both rounds; individual baseline results are kept separate.
Inside your AI coding tool
Nothing new to learn.
Install once and keep talking to Codex, Claude Code, Grok Build or Cursor as you do now. When a job needs real coding, your AI coding tool hands it to XCR, then reviews what comes back.

The AI switchboard
One task. Changes you can review.
XCR plans the work, writes separate parts where useful, runs checks and audits the requirements. Incomplete results are kept aside with the remaining work listed.
Planning desk
Splits big multi-file work into parts that can run at the same time.
Implementation
Writes the requested changes against your project context.
Repair
Uses check results to repair incomplete work within the task budget.
Check desk
Your project's typecheck, lint and tests, run offline in a sandbox.
Idea workshop
No coding skills needed. Start with an idea.
Chat with XCR for free, find a useful website or tool idea and shape a small first version. When you are ready to make it, connect the plugin to your AI coding tool.
You stay in control
Pause, undo, remove. Anytime.
XCR works on a separate copy. Eligible results can be applied without committing to your current branch; you can keep results aside and undo applied changes.
Established AI providers
Familiar models. More ways to work.
XCR is a AI coding plugin and task service, not a proprietary foundation model. We process tasks through leading AI providers’ official APIs and bring their models into your existing workflow.
Keep using Codex, Claude Code or Cursor. XCR takes on implementation and local checks.
Who it's for
Whatever you build with AI, it can cost less.
Building websites
Pages, API routes, forms, validation and migrations: XCR builds, your AI coding tool checks.
Building apps
Features, tests and bug fixes. Cost varies with the task and the number of repairs.

Questions
Frequently asked
How is this different from my AI coding tool just doing the work?+
XCR handles implementation and local checks for your AI coding tool to review. In our 22-task comparison, XCR and Astra each completed 19 tasks; estimated XCR cost was 41.8% lower. This compares API tool workflows, not native AI coding tool subscriptions. Read the full test report.
Will it work with my AI coding tool?+
XCR works with Codex, Claude Code, Grok Build and Cursor on macOS and Linux (Windows through WSL). Copy one instruction from the Install on a computer page in your console and paste it into your AI coding tool; no terminal needed. Checks are found automatically for JavaScript/TypeScript (including React Native and Expo), Python, Go and Rust. Swift, Kotlin, Flutter and others work too, with the check command given by your AI coding tool; without a usable check, XCR can only review. See the setup guide.
Does my code leave my computer?+
The parts of your project that a task needs are sent to XCR and to the AI providers doing the work, listed in the AI Provider Disclosure. Secret values are removed first and files like . env are never read. XCR does not store your code. No providers headquartered in mainland China are used.
Does it change my files?+
XCR works on a separate copy. Completed results whose requirement audit and available checks pass can be written into your working tree without committing. Incomplete results stay aside for review. You can also keep every result aside or undo applied changes.
What if the result is wrong or incomplete?+
The report lists done, not done and needs-you requirements, files and checks. Incomplete or unverified requirements keep the result aside for review. Passing checks alone do not prove the result is correct.
How am I charged?+
Free plugin download. No membership fee. Making tasks are billed by usage. Model work can be charged even when incomplete. A task budget limits new requests; already-running requests may settle after a stop. Provider errors with no usable output are not billed to you; platform failures follow the Credits & Refund Policy.
Does it work without tests?+
Yes, but then XCR can only have a second model review the change instead of proving it with your checks. The better your tests, the more reliable the results.
What about tests that need the internet, or new packages?+
XCR runs checks offline and never installs anything. It lists those steps under "Needs you" and your own AI coding tool does them on your computer.
How do I turn it off?+
Pause everything from the Overview page of your console, or one computer or project under Computers & projects. To remove it, tell your AI coding tool "uninstall XCR" or run the uninstall command; it restores every file it changed.
Is XCR a model you trained yourself?+
No. XCR is a AI coding plugin and task service using official APIs from providers including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. Data processors are listed in the AI provider disclosure.
Are AI results always correct?+
No. AI output can be wrong or incomplete even after checks and review. Check important changes before relying on them.
Can I use XCR without an AI coding tool?+
The idea workshop is free to explore without an AI coding tool. To make your plan, choose an AI coding tool and follow the steps to install the XCR plugin.
